Its predecessor was already a luxury sport sedan with an exceptional individual. The new Audi S8, launched in mid 2006, is expected to continue this legacy and develop further, with the aim of establishing new standards in its class.

Domestic Issues

The four possible combinations of colors – silver/black, paranut brown/black, silver/gray and gray/brown paranut – underline the sporty atmosphere of luxury, the colors for the seat of the middle section is different from the side sections and head restraints. The cap is black with a range of interior color combinations, but the characteristic “S” silver interior is also available.

New V10 with FSI technology from the world of motor racing
For the first time in its history, the brand presents 10:00 cylinder Audi, the S8 – V10. The ten – cylinder engine is also synonymous with dynamic power of the model built Gallardo Italian super sports car brand Lamborghini, a subsidiary of Audi. S8 also has FSI direct injection. This combination of hours and the ten – cylinder Audi FSI technology offers a unique position in the market.
A ten – cylinder engine is the ideal power plant for the production of sporting aspirations. It has the advantage over a comparable twelve – cylinder unit of fewer components, reducing the moving masses and less internal friction, the fuel is used very efficiently. The V10 is also much lighter and more compact than a conventional 12 – cylinder engine – including all additional components, the engine of the Audi S8 is only 685 mm long, 801 mm wide and 713 mm in height. The bare engine measures 560 mm in length.
Although an eight – cylinder engine is more compact, making it the five – liter class, it would require large, heavy pistons and connecting rods, so its ability to rev freely would be impaired as a result. It is no coincidence that many competitors have generally concentrated only on high torque with their large capacity V8 engines, rather than attempting to squeeze sporty performance from them too. The 450 bhp V10 in the Audi S8 is the next generation of Audi V engines, all with an angle of 90 degrees and a distance of 90 mm between cylinder centers.
In each row of cylinders, multiple cylinders for the first and second cylinder and the fourth and fifth combined, converge to the collector for the third cylinder relatively far down. Four main parts catalysts are responsible for the control of exhaust emissions. The powerful ten – cylinder engine has been optimized for high torque and high engine power. Achieves 450 hp at 7,000 rpm, and get up to 540 Nm of torque at only 3,000 to 4,000 rpm.
