2011 infiniti M35h
We have known for the Infiniti M hybrid for some time, but had yet to see the finished product. Just today, however, Infiniti has officially taken the wraps off the Los Angeles Auto Show.
With M35h, copied idea Infiniti Lexus’ design of a hybrid system of performance rather than the entire economy of fuel. As such, using the hybrid Infiniti 3.5-liter V-6 coupled to an electric motor to produce a combined 360 horsepower. For what Infiniti calls a hybrid sedan performance, fuel economy is not terrible, either on an estimate 25/30/27 mpg (city/hwy/combined).
The hybrid system uses a single, 50 kW (67 hp) electric motor powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries to provide power to drive directly to the gearbox seven-speed automatic.
Thanks to the immediate provision of the motor 199 pounds-feet of torque, which can be contracted without the engine to drive up M35h 1.2 km at a speed of 62 mph. Of course, the engine can do morethan propel the car, becomes a generator during deceleration to recharge the battery.
In addition to being the first hybrid Infiniti is also M35h first hybrid in the world to come standard with alarm pedestrians technology. With the advent of near-silent propulsion, many have advocated the use of audio warning systems to warn people about the presence of a vehicle. Infiniti is the first manufacturer to offer such a system, called Approaching a vehicle with sonic accuracy for pedestrians, standard on the new hybrid.
The system only works at speeds of up to 20 km/h, acceleration, when the vehicle itself produces enough noise to warn pedestrians of its approach. When slowed down, the system kicks back in less than 15 mph.
For a first attempt at a hybrid, said M35h Infiniti is impressive spec sheet, but we reserve final decision until we run. The M37 and M56 are already good, but M can be a garden. Search the news M35h Infiniti stand at Los Angeles Auto Show.
