2011 Mitsubishi i-MiEV Review
2011 Mitsubishi i-MiEV Review, Previously as a concept at the Frankfurt Auto Show 2003, and released in Japan in January 2006, a recipient of numerous awards and received by the media and customers, the innovative segment A “i” was chosen as the next platform MMC generation electric vehicle projects: the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, the Euro-spec. version (left and right hand drive on the album is officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show 2010).
The best use of architecture to master this new city car, the electric “in” or “i MiEV” so that was announced in October 2006 as a research vehicle powered by a compact and lightweight high energy density lithium-ion batteries.
Less than three years later, after a whole development process has been completed accumulated over 500,000 miles of testing, the car was released in Japan as “i-MiEV” in July 2009 with the first customer fleets. Then the books were opened for private clients, and the first deliveries of the second wave of Japanese clients is carried out from April 2010.
The next phase will start trading in Paris today, before starting the MMC Mizushima plant production in October. Deliveries to customers in Europe will begin in 1914 in selected markets from December 2010, according to the country.
Engine (power)
Mitsubishi i-MiEV uses a very compact and lightweight permanent magnet synchronous electric motor specially designed vehicle.
This device generates a maximum torque at low rpm (180 Nm – 0 2000 rpm) to give a strong response (66.6ps/49 kW) and a perfect experience. When the vehicle slows down the regenerative braking system causes the motor to a generator, recovering energy stored in the battery to operate.
Transmission
Mitsubishi i-MiEV uses a transmission gear light and compact single-speed, high torque advantage of the inherent low-speed electric motor and eliminating the need for complex gear change mechanisms found in the house vehicles with engines combustion.
High capacity/low cost
EV traction batteries with high energy density. To this end, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV LEJ advantage of HD is specially designed for the lithium-ion battery, which each form long-lasting battery is inserted under the floor.
By design, Mitsubishi i-MiEV accepts two types of traction battery charging systems:
The “charging system from home” for anywhere near a regular electrical outlet, via the home charger plug on the European side of the vehicle 1 phase 230V (16A) that Mitsubishi i MiEV can be recharged in 6 hours “low power” warning. (The actual boot time may vary depending on factors such as air temperature and power status).
“Quick Charger fast downloads System -. Where utilities are installed, electricity companies, municipalities or companies fast charger There is the Mitsubishi i-MiEV can be quick charger plug on the left side of the vehicle using a three-phase 200 V 50 kW rapid charge system, the machine can be loaded from zero to 80% of the total payment of about 30 minutes (the actual download time may vary depending on factors such as temperature and power status).
Security
Like all MMC vehicles, i-MiEV is designed with a high level of active and passive safety, including its special powertrain:
i-MiEV MMC patented features “Rise” design is aimed at integrating and interconnecting structural elements of active protection of passengers in an accident. This design provides spectacular advances in the performance impact on the dispersion of multi-directional security of energy costs on the front, side and rear crashes and controls distortion.
The package of high voltage system of the traction battery is located under the body – in the same wheelbase – and is protected by a well-cradle against damage from any direction of impact. The rear lights with LEDs illuminate the use of quick release of the tail and stop lights, when the lamps most immediately visible on the following vehicles, reducing energy consumption.
In addition to standard precautions are six airbags (driver + passenger + 2x + 2x curtain half) and Active Stability Control.
