2011 New Porsche Panamera Review
2011 New Porsche Panamera Review, a four – door luxury car, which made its debut in 2010. Until recently, I was just pushed Panamera S, which is powered by a 4.8 – liter, 400 horsepower V8 engine. And the base model, which is only now making its U.S. debut and is a 3.6 – liter, 300 horsepower V6 in his hood? It would be too slow and pedestrians to take seriously, even if it costs me less than 15 big S?
In a word: no. The new Panamera entry level is essentially the same car as the S and it is also fun to drive. You give up some speed first, but not much, and the base model can handle a little better than S because it is a bit lighter. Unless you plan to log time on a racetrack, this new Porsche is much faster. And there’s good news for residents of the snow belt: The Panamera is actually a little faster with four – wheel drive rear – wheel drive with standard wheels and handles very well in ice and snow.
Base starts at $75,375 Panamera with rear – wheel drive and $79,875 with AWD. This compares with a starting price of $90.775 for the Panamera S and $136.275 for the Turbo. Standard equipment on the new entry level model is the same as the S and includes leather upholstery, eight – way power front seats with driver memory functions, hard drive navigation system and its 11 speaker, a sunroof, a power tailgate, rear parking sensors, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel and a cooled glove box.
Base price does not mean much, anyway. As usual, Porsche, there is a very long list of attractive but expensive options. When the Panamera inside the baseline, I can easily integrate the 90 largest, and had just started (more options below).
The obvious advantage of the V6 engine improves fuel economy, but the benefits are relatively low. The Panamera base is estimated to get 18 miles per gallon city and 27 on the highway, or 21 combined only 2 mpg better on average than the Panamera S. However, it is good enough to classify the entry – level Panamera Audi (VOTE: GR). Redesigned A8 and Mercedes S400 Hybrid that cars more fuel efficient category.BMW s (BMW: GR) 740i 6 – 17/25/20 voltage is near, but not quite as well. The BMW 750i V8 (15/23/18) and Mercedes S550 (15/23/18) behind.
Porsche Panamera sell very well. In 2010, the first full year on the market the company sold 7,741 Panamera, which makes Porsche No. 2 model in the U.S. behind the Cayenne SUV, which had sales of 8343.
Behind the wheel
The main difference between S and Panamera Panamera acceleration. Porsche Panamera, says the base jumping 0 – 60 in 6.0 seconds, 5.8 seconds, rear wheel drive, four wheel drive. The time drops to 5.2 seconds (5.0 seconds AWD) and S (Turbo and 4.0 seconds, which will be AWD only).
If 0.8 seconds is worth 15 grand for you, then Panamera S is your car. If not, the Panamera entry – level suits you in other ways, since it is virtually identical to S. While the engine is essentially the same as the V8 in the S, but with two cylinders removed. This is an engine much milder than the Cayenne V6. It emits a growl satisfying when you punch the gas.
