2011 New MY Saab 9-3
The 2011 years the model brings another round of improvements to late exchange SAAB 9 – 3, especially with the development of the range of diesel engines. In particular, the three diesel models have more advanced technology, twin – turbocharged, which not only helps reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, but also adds a little pony.
The range of 1.9 – liter turbo diesel now contains a TTiD 130hp unit which replaces the old engine 120HP, 160HP version which takes the place of 150 hp and a top – end variant 180HP.
Saab said in these updates transmission diesel engine and manual, 9 – 3 sedan returns a fuel economy of 4.5 lt/100km combined cycle (62.8 mpg UK or U.S. 52.3mpg) and emissions 119 g km/CO2. For SportCombi, the respective figures lt/100 4.6 km and 122 g/km, and the Saab 9 – 3 Convertible, which is available with 160HP and the 180HP diesel engine, 5.1 km and lt/100 134 g/km.
To further optimize emissions and fuel consumption, Saab has also implemented a set of efficiency measures, such as recalibrated engine management and power, check the gear ratios, low rolling resistance, aerodynamic rear wing leaves and low light weight thanks to lighter construction and sound dampening materials.
According to the Swedish automaker, all – turbo petrol line – up also enjoy some of these measures (specific information has been published), which resulted in an average reduction of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of 7 percent.
The 2011 model year, Saab will also introduce a new model of gasoline, combined with a 163HP turbo petrol engine, the company’s XWD all – wheel drive system.
Other improvements for the 3.9 model year include the addition of a gear indicator “change in the instrument panel on all models, two new exterior colors, perforated leather steering wheel on the Sport Aero A locking system manual clutch belt and child seat top tether points and the new emblem style rear engine after the 9 – 5 sedan.
