2011 Chevrolet Sonic All Activity Vehicle by Ricky Carmichael Unveiled at the 2011 SEMA Show.
At the 2011 SEMA Show today Chevrolet teamed up with three-time X-Games gold medalist Ricky Carmichael to create a one-off stylish concept based on the 2011 Chevrolet Sonic All Activity Vehicle. Known as the Chevrolet Sonic All Activity Vehicle, the study transforms the Sonic for an active lifestyle and can accommodate Carmichael’s bike and waterboard equipment. Carmichael was an AMA motocross national champion before he turned 20 and collected 15 championship trophies before heading into four-wheel competition in 2007. He’s been a strong competitor in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series ever since, where he was voted its most popular driver in 2009. He collected six top 10 finishes in the 2011 season.
As a result, the Sonic received storage capacity for his biking and wakeboard equipment. Regarding its design, the All 2011 Chevrolet Sonic All Activity Vehicles come with a matte black finish, satin chrome pieces and a new Z-Spec 2-high-wing spoiler. The interior of the car was designed by Fox Racing, one of Ricky Carmichael’s sponsors, and features a material intended to replicate board shorts. Although it is just a concept, the American manufacturer is planning to offer the Z-Spec package for all customers in 2013, and this will include upgrades to the car’s grille, paneling, ground effects, spoiler and wheels. Besides all of the visual upgrades (which you can see in detail in the pictures and highlights after the jump), the 2011 Chevrolet Sonic All Activity Vehicle Concept features a Borla exhaust system Brembo brakes. Under the hood is the production 1.4L turbocharged engine and 6-speed manual transmission.

“This vehicle really has captivated a lot of people,” said Cristi Landy, director of small cars for Chevrolet. “It’s really sporty and has a cool blend of elements. The interior is really cool.” Mostly, it was just beautiful. The black paint was accented by neon green accents on the wheels and Ricky’s signature on the sides. The colors 2011 Chevrolet Sonic All Activity Vehicle, he says, “make the car hop.” Not much has been done to the 1.4-liter under the bonnet with the exception of a Borla exhaust. The standard brakes have also been swapped for Brembo ones. Inside, you have flat-bottom steering wheel, aluminum gear lever, Z-spec pedal kit and some all-weather floor mats so you don’t have to worry about what you bring inside the car. Lastly, the Sonic Boom concept has a custom paint job and a 4,000-watt Kicker audio system.
