2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder by only offering it’s with the E-gear transmission. Lamborghini is giving Porsche a run for its money when it comes to creating a seemingly endless number of variants from one model. This time around, the folks from Sant’Agata Bolognese have churned out the 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder. Just like the coupe model, the Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder uses a 5.2-liter V10 engine that delivers a total of 542 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque.
With a total weight of 3,351 lbs, the roadster will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds on its way up to a top speed of 198 mph. Top speed fun can be had with the soft top open or closed. The retractable top is soft, and it folds under what 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder claims is the largest single piece of automotive carbon fiber. Too bad it’s painted. The suspension has tailored for the inevitable weight gain, and a new matte-black accent adorns the bottoms of the side sills.
The 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder is expected to arrive in the U.S. sometime early next year. Production will be limited to just 250 units worldwide, and pricing almost certain to start on the far side of $250,000.
