2013 BMW M6 Gran Coupe – Test Drive, Spy Shot
2013 BMW M6 Gran Coupe out testing near the Companies headquarters in Germany.
The 2013 BMW M6 Gran Coupe has sidled in front of our spy photographers’ lenses, and it looks good: like the Gran Coupe, but meaner. We’re looking forward to seeing how it stacks up to the M5 on track. As with any other BMW M6 Gran Coupe model in BMW’s line-up, the Gran Coupe will be distinguished by a more aggressive and sportier look compared to the standard model. The list of changes will include more aggressive front and rear fascias with the usual M-type elements, larger wheels, and, of course, a quad-exhaust system.
BMW’s now-familiar seven-speed M DCT twin clutch transmission is expected to take power to the BMW M6 Gran Coupe rear wheels, and the car’s 0-100km/h sprint time is speculated to be in the low four-second range. The M6 Grandcoupe is essentially a four door version of the regular BMW M6 Gran Coupe. It will feature the same 4.4-liter turbo V-8 found in the 2012 BMW M5, although we expect to see the M division pump a few more ponies out of its larger sibling. The M5 comes with 557 PS (410 kW / 549 bhp), but we expect the M6 Grancoupe to come closer to 600 PS (441 kW / 591 bhp).
It should have a seven-speed M DCT dual-clutch gearbox and a set of M-Division suspension upgrades as well as a complete aero dynamic upgrade. This will include a new BMW M6 Gran Coupe rear bumper, rear diffuser, side skirts, massive wheels, quad exhausts, and a new front bumper.
We hope you enjoyed this 2013 BMW M6 Gran Coupe article!
