The 2013 Ford Mustang California Special Package arrived to great acclaim at the LA Auto Show and now the American automaker has released some photos of a new special edition available for the powered-up muscle car. But one of the most important is the introduction of some of Ford’s special edition packages for the Mustang. The Ford Mustang California Special Package features some new styling tweaks but keeps the stock Mustang motor. We don’t understand why Ford just wouldn’t come out with an extensive batch of photos for the 2013 Ford Mustang California Special Package.
Unfortunately, the Blue Oval hasn’t given us the full details of the cars, but, from what we can see in the images, in the case of the Ford Mustang California Special Package we are dealing with a redesigned front grille, side air intakes (for the brakes?), a rear diffuser, as well as a rear wing and some black stripes. The most prominent addition is the new rear wing. However, it is equipped with a bespoke front grille, rear diffuser, side scoops and GTCS graphics on the side and hood of the muscle car. The wheels are perfect for this one.
The 2013 Ford Mustang California Special Package kept the Performance is likely to be derived from the factory so 5.0-litres, V6 engine and 420 hp. We also noticed for the first time that the front spoiler is slightly more aggressive than the standard GT. Out back is a different rear fascia and the pedastal rear wing from the Boss 302 Laguna Seca. We also got the chance to look inside, which revealed leather seats embossed with the GT/CS logo and trimmed with Alcantara and white stitching.
This 2013 Ford Mustang California Special Package is oozing with exquisite sophisticated looks, specially by looking on its hood, bumper and roof. All in one package as I might say. Moreover, the engine specification of it is quite good enough for it. Like the previous California Special, the dash is also unique featuring a faux carbon fiber pattern.
